Kenya
Mark and I have returned safely from Kenya after a most blessed and successful time teaching pastors in the Machakos region, about 160kms east of Nairobi. Another semester of Theological Education was completed and the 42 students received their transcripts for Systematic Theology I and New Testament Introduction.
The joy found in ministry has once again been very impactful. We’ve come home inspired and edified, rejoicing in the goodness of God.
Something that touched my heart was the resilience and tenacity shown by the pastors studying under difficult conditions to “show themselves approved unto God”.
Most of them are bio-vocational. They have little farms/businesses which need oversight while they are away. Furthermore, they minister to rural/remote communities that don’t have basic amenities like electricity and water. The Bible School is no different. The large auditorium is incomplete, rainwater is harvested into a tank, electricity is non-existent and catering was from an outdoor kitchen set up under the trees.
BUT, THIS DID NOT INTERFERE WITH THEIR PASSION TO MEET WITH GOD IN AN EFFORT TO BE BETTER EQUIPPED TO GROW THE KINGDOM OF GOD FOR HIS GLORY.
In prayer, please join us in thanksgiving to God for these faithful servants. And, please consider how you may be able to assist this ministry going forward.
Special thanks to those donors who enabled us to give each Pastor a shirt and tie and their wives gifts of clothing and cosmetics.
