God’s provision during COVID-19
May 2020 Updates
Currently COVID-19 lockdown is causing widespread hunger among rural and remote communities.
Pastor Lawrence Khumalo, a church planter and his congregation were assisted with food parcels in the village of Impendle, a least reached group of people.
Your prayers please.
Once again God has wonderfully provided for the 47 refugee families of Smirna Church in the inner city of PMB.
Thank you to those who have given.
Please continue to pray for this congregation.
Rookdale a small impoverished community about 12 kilometres from Bergville caught our attention this week. Extreme poverty, broken infrastructure, far too many single parent homes and sibling families have all contributed to its misery. In addition, Pastor Thomas Hlongwane, informed us of a new trend… Mothers with their children are walking out of nearby neighbouring Lesotho in search of a new and better life. As refugees they do not qualify for government aid… we were asked to intervene. Our initial delivery of food was met with great relief and appreciation.
Thank you to those who are supporting COVID-19 crisis relief.
Please pray for Pastor Thomas and his ministry AND for ongoing resources to meet the needs of these families.
Smirna Church, the French speaking congregation made up of foreign nationals mainly from the Democratic Republic of Congo, are the worst affected community due to COVID-19.
God's providential smile was upon them. They received 75 dozen green mealies from a kind-hearted farmer. 🙏
Pastor Maisha’s thank you letter once again touched my heart: "They're enough for every family and we even give much as well to our neighbours."
Please keep our brothers and sisters in your prayers.
Here are a few lines from a thank you letter received after our recent food distribution to 47 families in the Smirna congregation: "We ask you transmit our gratitude to whoever had supported you in this social relief you did for our congregation. Thank you and God bless you in abundance." – Pastor Maisha [Smirna Congregation]
Thank you and please continue to pray for and support our Christian response to those in need as a result of COVID-19.
[*Please note the image of Pr Maisha and Trevor was taken before the wearing of a face mask was a legal requirement in South Africa.😷]
Food distribution for the needy took place in rural to remote parts of Hluhluwe, Zululand. Under God, a newly planted church is growing and we are in the process of constructing a sanctuary for this congregation. Once restrictions have been lifted, roofing will begin.
Funding is still needed for:
• Doors and windows
